Have you considered reviewing the book Spells for Change by Frankie Castanea? She’s a tiktoker and her resources tend to be fairly good. Wanted to know your perspective on her stuff as another practitioner!

As far as I’m aware, their pronouns are they/them and they’ve referred to themself as genderfluid recently. However, I’m not sure about their other preferred pronouns, so I’ll go with the pronouns they have marked on their Instagram.
I actually watch them on YouTube and enjoy their content! I have their book on a wishlist. My problem is that I need my books to be in paper form. Ah, brainfuckery, you make life so interesting.
If it’s any consolation, I enjoy their videos on YouTube (under Chaotic Witch Aunt) and enjoy their perspective as a witch who is reaching back to Italian folk magic, which is definitely not my lane but utterly fascinating.
They’re definitely on the TBR, as soon as I can get their book!
i love frankie! i have their book and it has good stuff for beginners. when people say “beginners should work on having a good foundation of the basics,” spells for change is a rlly good resource for that. they also include step-by-step examples of how to go about doing these basic things (like grounding, cleansing, meditation, to name a few) and have sections of correspondences!
i always recommended their youtube to practitioners and (if you or anyone else is into podcasts) their podcast, books and broomsticks (with matthatterplays), is also fantastic.
(i also need books to be in paper form so 🤝 for that one)
I’m not a podcast person, but I didn’t know they had a podcast! That’s cool, I hope it’s enjoyable.
I’ll definitely pick up the book when I get the chance just to flip through it and give y'all my thoughts!
Does anyone have an update on where things are at with the writers strike? It’s disappeared from my various feeds and algorithms.
The writers’ strike is ongoing and the studios are still not returning to the negotiating table. Unfortunately a lot of the coverage has tapered off because we’re on 50+ days of striking and it’s not new anymore. The last strike in 2007 lasted 100 days, so don’t be surprised if this strike lasts as long, or even longer.
Please keep vocally supporting the WGA online to keep the pressure on the studios & to keep WGA members motivated and encouraged! There are many ongoing donation drives, such as the Star Trek fan snack squad (Twitter account required to DM the organizer) and the Our Flag Means Death snack squad (opens the PayPal fundraising page—no Twitter required). There’s a longer list of ongoing donation drives here.
The Entertainment Community Fund is also always accepting donations to support entertainment workers affected by the strike. Please boost and encourage your friends to keep supporting the strike. Hashtag #IStandWithTheWGA #DoTheWriteThing to boost the cause!
The Supreme Court ruled for ICWA (Indigenous Child Welfare Act) to stay put. This is a win, but racist white couples are still causing trouble for Indigenous children and families. Bring Chanel home.
this is gonna be the biggest opinion i have about worshipping with a disability but i genuinely swear it’s okay to forget things. forgetting to offer. forgetting to clean. forgetting to pray. memory problems of any sort are often EXTREMELY demonised but you don’t have to shame yourself for it. it’s okay to forget things. it’s okay for things to slip your mind, it’s not going to be a world-ender for you to forget things. once again, the deity understands! deity worship is for anyone who wants to worship a deity! and that absolutely includes those with memory problems.
So here's the thing, you can't really enforce closed religious practices and it seems silly to try. Sure you can make posts about it, but you can't actually stop people from worshipping certain gods. You can't really stop people from believing things a certain way.

so here’s the thing, most normal people when they’re told something isn’t for them, take the hint and stop trying to force their way into places/ideas that aren’t for them.
it doesn’t seem silly to try and boiling it down to something that’s “silly” completely erases the group of people that have been educated and decided to be a decent person and Stop Practicing closed religions or practices.
I mean, if you wanna summon a demon, then summon a demon. If you don’t wanna summon a demon, then don’t summon a demon. It’s nothing complicated at all if you think about it.
